About the Remarkables Market

The Remarkables Market launched in 2010 in the grounds of a historic ‘Red Barn’, nestled beneath the Remarkables Mountain Range, in the heart of Remarkables Park. 14 years later the market has evolved into a key community and visitor friendly weekend activity. Stallholders from all over the district come every Saturday 9am – 2pm bringing a wide variety of produce, arts, crafts, jewelry, hot and cold food and much more!

The focus is on bringing the community together and supporting local producers, artists, crafters.  Musicians change weekly and additional entertainment is provided at specific markets eg Christmas, Easter.   Picnic tables and a range of hot and cold food and beverages ensure many people make a day of it and enjoy their brunch / lunch in the grounds while catching up with friends and family.

The addition of a large sandpit, playground and beautiful landscaped gardens over the intervening years has resulted in a beautiful location that is enjoyed by locals and visitors every year.   The popular Christmas markets host over 100 stalls every year.

Every winter a series of five / six winter markets are held including Luma, Winter Pride,  School Holiday Mid-Winter markets and Matariki.

The Market has a focus on sustainability.  In 2021 it removed all single use cups, instead people are encouraged to bring their keep cup or borrow one of the markets!  Composting was introduced in 2022 with all compostable material separated, composted and returned to the feed the gardens in the wider Remarkables Park area.

In 2023 the Market is introducing reusable serve ware, reducing the amount of waste produced. No plastic packing or bags are used on site.

The Remarkables Market is owned and managed by Remarkables Park Limited
