The Red Barn is Available for Private Hire

The Red Barn is a character building surrounded by large, landscaped gardens complete with sandpit and playground, plenty of parking and a central location in the heart of Remarkables Park, Queenstown.  

The Red Barn and surrounding grounds are available for hire and are perfect for a wide range of events.  

Home to the Remarkables Market during summer the site is sunny with room for a Marquee, electricity for food trucks and the extra shelter offer by the pergolas all set with The Remarkables Mountain Range in the background.

  • Hire includes the exclusive use of the grounds, this includes the sandpit and playground. Activities are able to be set up on the open grass areas.
  • The Red Barn has large sliding doors connecting the indoor space to the covered outdoor pergola area and Barn doors on the south side that can be full open or half opened.
  • The pergola and structures underneath the pergola’s are permanent.
  • Four toilets are onsite for use by guests (including one disabled toilet).
  • The Red Barn is home to the Remarkables Market and is well set up for food trucks etc. There are 18x 10amp outdoor plugs, 9x 16amp and 10x 10amp and 1x 16amp inside the Barn.
  • Six picnic tables are permanently on site and cannot be moved from their location.

What types of events can I hold at your venue?

The venue is suitable for a wide range of events, including but not limited to, team building events, workshops, day after weddings, corporate events, family gatherings, meetings and more.

Please note: The Red Barn Site is subject to noise restrictions and only operates between 7am – 10pm.

How many guests can the Red Barn accommodate?

The Red Barn has a maximum capacity of 200 inside standing, the grounds can accommodate many more. The specific capacity may vary depending on the type of event and the setup required.

Can I visit the venue before booking?

Yes, we encourage you to schedule a visit to the venue before booking to see the site and ask any questions you have, site induction is also required for Health and Safety. Contact our office to arrange a visit.

Can I bring my own vendors, or do I have to use preferred list?

Yes, we welcome you to bring your own vendors. We simply ask that they provide proof of liability insurance.

Is there a kitchen onsite for catering?

No, we have utilities shed with a sink and commercial sterilising dishwasher which may be available – enquire with our team.

What is the cancellation policy?

Where cancellation occurs within:
Less than 60 days prior to the event the fee is 20% of the venue hire fee.
Less than 30 days prior to the event, 50% of the hire fee.
Less than 7 days prior to the event, 100% of the hire fee.

Is there parking at the venue?

Yes, we have 100 paid parking bays, with pay stations onsite. Additional parking can be arranged with Remarkables Park Ltd.

Can I decorate the venue?

Yes, you are welcome to decorate the venue for your event. We ask that you consult with our team regarding any special requirements or restrictions.

Is the site accessible?

The entrance to the Red Barn grounds are graveled with a slight incline.  There is one accessible toilet on site.  There is a small gutter for entry into the Barn.
